Prayer for Environments

Jesus, just as you sent your disciples
To all the known parts of the world,
So you send your present-day disciples to join with others
To form small Christian communities.
We pray for the wisdom and guidance
In our pursuit of these territories.
Help us to enliven these environments with your presence.
Free us from the selfishness
and fears that hold us back.
Still us so that we may hear your voice
and feel your love blessing us and sending us forth.
Help us become more attentive and supportive to the giftedness
Of those with whom we minister.
All these things we ask in your name, Jesus.
